Location Englishman River Falls is located 13 km southwest of Parksville on central Vancouver Island. Take Errington Road off of Highway #4 between Parksville and Coombs. Directional signs are posted on main highways.
Outdoor Activities There are 3 km of maintained trails that wind through this majestic old growth and second growth forested park. Throughout Douglas Fir, cedar, hemlock and maple trees are lookouts that provide views of the two waterfalls, an expansive gorge and a quiet canyon. The lower pool provides an enjoyable swimming spot on a summer day when the water levels are low. Spawning salmon can sometimes be seen in the autumn although there is no fishing allowed in the park at any time of the year. Picnicking There is a covered picnic shelter in the day-use area. It is a non-reservable shelter and it has a large capacity. There are no campfires allowed in the day-use area but visitors are welcome to bring their own propane barbeques or briquette hibachis. Remember to remove all personal garbage and refuse from the park when finished using the facilities, in order to preserve the natural beauty of the park and protect the wildlife from illness or choking. Parking There is a cost of $1.00 per hour or $3.00 for an entire day to park anywhere within the parking lots. Failure to pay this cost will result in a parking ticket. Camping The campground contains 105 sites that were newly rebuilt in 2005. There are well kept pit toilets, drinking water and an adventure playground. The non-serviced sites are all forested and well distanced which provides an intimate nature experience for all. This is a reservable campground although there are always sites put aside for people with no reservation. These sites are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Prices and Seasons The prices for camping are seasonally adjusted to the provision of services . During the peak season camping fees are $21.00 per night and there is a second vehicle charge of $10.50. Additional sleeping units are permitted in an occupied campsite but there is a camping fee charge of $21.00. Winter season is October 1 to May 1, or until full services are resumed, rates are $10.00 for everyone. Shoulder season is May 1 to June 15 and after Labour Day to September 30 where the rate is $21.00 and seniors pay $10.50 per night. Peak season is June 16 to Labour Day where the rate is $21.00 and seniors pay $21.00 per night. Second vehicle charges are $10.50 per night with a campsite. Reservations To make a reservation please contact Discover Camping or toll free @ 1-800-689-9025. Fires Campfires are allowed in designated fire rings provided that a fire ban is not in effect. Firewood is provided to visitors and the cost is $7.00 per bundle or $18.00 for 3 bundles. In order to preserve vegetation and ground cover, please do not gather firewood from the area around your campsite or elsewhere in the park (this is a ticketable offence under the Park Act). Dead wood is an important habitat element for many plants and animals and it adds organic matter to the soil. It is illegal to burn wood or material from the forest because it is destructive and damages the protected ecosystems within the park. Circle Tour Park This is a circle tour stop.
