Rules and Regulations

The following are general rules and regulations as specified by BC Parks, however there might be rules and regulations that are specific to an individual park for more information visit the park pages listed within our website or visit BC Parks .

Camping
A camping party is defined as up to 4 adults and 4 children, or one RV /tent.  Additional people or an extra RV will be considered as 2 parties and be charged the double booking rate. Camp sites cannot be rented out to those under the age of 16 without an adult.
One vehicle is allowed per campsite or an additional second vehicle charge is applied.
An RV towing a car is not charged for a second vehicle.
All tents/RV's must be set up on the gravel camping pad of the campsite.

Some of our backcountry and marine access only parks are designated "leave no trace" meaning what you hike in must be hiked out.  Leave only your footprints and take away your memories and your garbage.

Dogs
All dogs must be on a leash. There are specific places and times of the year in some parks that dogs are not allowed. Please check information shelters for this information prior to a hike.

Quiet Times
Generally quiet times at all parks are from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. Daily disturbances of loud music, swearing or generators are not tolerated.

Alcohol
Alcohol is strictly prohibited within the park boundaries except for within individual campsites and as long as the visitors are obeying the quiet time rules and are not disruptive to other camping parties.

Flora and Fauna
Everything within the park is protected.  Trees, plants, wildlife and even shells on the beach are to be left alone and conserved for future generations. Harvesting or removal of anything from a Provincial Park will be met with a heavy fine.

Campfires
Campfires are only permitted in fire rings. Campfires cannot be left unattended. Underbrush, shrubs and trees are strictly prohibited for use as firewood or for roasting sticks. Only firewood purchased from us or brought in may be used.

Fishing
For any of the parks that allow fishing within the boundaries, visitors are required to have a valid fishing license and adhere to all Provincial and Federal Fisheries regulations.  For more information see the following BC Parks website on wildlife regulations
