Spider Lake Provincial Park is located 60 km north of Nanaimo and 16 km west of Qualicum Beach on central Vancouver Island. The park can be accessed via the Horne Lake exit off Hwy #19 or Hwy #19a. Follow signs for 5 km to Spider Lake.

Outdoor Activites

Spider Lake features a clean sandy beach perfect for water activities on a summer day.
Spider Lake is noted for its excellent canoeing, kayaking and swimming. Paddlers can have a quiet day exploring the shoreline and the many secluded ‘Spider legs” of this lake.

The lake is stocked with small mouth bass and Rainbow trout. There are fishing opportunities all year. Powerboats are prohibited on Spider Lake. Rowboats, and canoes and kayaks are easily launched from the beach next to the small parking lot.  This park is also good for fresh water scuba diving.

This is an extremely popular destination. Pets/domestic animals must be on a leash and under control at all times. You are responsible for their behavior and must remove their excrement.

This park has a large day-use area, with 16 picnic tables, fresh water, 5 pit toilets and a sandy beach. This area and the parking lot are closed from October 16 to May 14 of each year.
