Location

Tribune Bay Provincial Park is located on Hornby Island. To reach Hornby take Buckley Bay exit #101 from Hwy #19 and then take the Denman Island Ferry. Once on Denman island, follow Denman Road to the Hornby Island Ferry terminal. Another 10 minute ferry ride will put you on Hornby Island; from there follow the main road to the Hornby Island CO-OP and then turn left following Central Road to the entrance to the park.

Outdoor Activities

The pure white sandy beaches of Tribune Bay stretch out to meet an aquamarine sea. Boasting close to 1 km of fine white sand beach. The shallow water heats to tropical temperatures during the summer and the bay is considered to be one of the warmest salt water swimming areas in BC.

A five-minute stroll for Tribune Bay will lead you to “downtown” Hornby Island, an eclectic community with a unique assortment of shops and services. You may also choose to go sightseeing along the bluffs at Helliwell Park, just around the corner from Tribune Bay.

Picnicking

The park has picnic shelter at the bottom of the meadow and overlooking the paradise of the Bay. There are also 6 pit toilets, 2 communal fire rings nearby, a picnic table, a tennis court and a cold water hand pump. The water must be boiled, treated or filtered prior to consumption.

Fires

No campfires are allowed within the boundaries of the park.  There are fire rings on the beach nearby which are maintained by the local fire department.  Please respect fire bans, and do not collect from the park to burn.
